Alto sax, Flute and Clarinet with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra
Jonny Vaux is a London based, freelance musician from Yorkshire. A former scholar at the Royal College of Music, supported by The Henry Wood Accommodation Trust and a Hedley Trust Award, he achieved a joint principle degree in classical and jazz saxophone.
He regularly plays with an eclectic mix of ensembles and orchestras, including the Syd Lawrence Orchestra and the BBC Symphony Orchestra during the Last Night of the Proms at the Royal Albert Hall.
Other venues include Cadogan Hall, the Royal Opera House, and City Hall. As a member of the Aesthesia Saxophone Quartet, he has played internationally at the Aegean Arts Festival in Crete and the Nordic Saxophone Festival in Denmark. In 2015, as a member of the Yorkshire Saxophone Choir, Jonny played at the World Saxophone Congress in Strasburg, France. As a soloist, he has given a recital at the Harrogate International Festival and won the saxophone prize at the Music Club of London’s young musician competition.
