Tom Dunnett - Lead Trombone
Tom was born in 1991 and has spent most of his life in Norwich where he joined the county jazz orchestra, symphony orchestra and wind band. He was a chorister at Norwich Cathedral and studied at Norwich School.
In 2009 Tom took a place at the Birmingham Conservatoire studying under Ashley Horton, Jeremy Price and Pete Beachill. Whilst studying in Birmingham, Tom has participated in workshops with and received tutorage from names such as Dave Holland, Mark Turner, Lee Konitz, George Colligan, Jeff Ballard, Mark Bassey, Mike Williams and Percy Pursglove.
As well as his position with the Syd Lawrence Orchestra, Tom currently holds a chair in MYJO under the direction of John Ruddick and has also worked with the 606 Big Band, the London Jazz Orchestra and the Julian Joseph Big Band in addition to performing with his own quintet.
