Dave Tandy - Drums
Dave started playing drums at the age of 11 and shortly afterwards joined the Birmingham Schools Jazz Ensemble and the Midland Youth Jazz Orchestra. He worked his way up through the three MYJO bands and became the regular drummer in the first band directed by John Ruddick in 2008. During this period with the band, he had the opportunity to work with many great guests from the UK and USA, these included Jacqui Dankworth, Mark Nightingale, Tony Christie, Bobby Shew, Gordon Goodwin, Wayne Bergeron and Eric Marienthal.
In recent years, he has worked with the Jay Craig Orchestra, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Orchestra, Matthew Ford, Jeff Hooper Big Band, Fat Chops Big Band, Freddy Staff's Manhattan Swing Band, Mike Burney Quartet, King Pleasure & The Biscuit Boys, Iain Dixon and Chris Bowden.
His musical theatre performances have included Fame, Little Me, Footloose, Hello Dolly, Little Shop of Horrors and Stephen Triffitt's Sinatra Through The Years.
Dave started deputising in the Syd Lawrence Orchestra in 2010 and became the regular drummer in 2012.
