Andy Watson - Trombone
Andy was born in Huddersfield, West Yorkshire where he started playing trombone at the age of 9. Before long he was playing in brass bands in the area and competing in regional and national solo contests. At the age of 17 he joined the Royal Air Force as a musician and reached the rank of Sergeant spending most of his career in The Central Band and in the RAF Squadronnaires.
In 2007, after 22 years service, Andy left the RAF to become freelance, and has played in several West End and touring shows, including Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Cabaret, Bugle Boy and The Rat Pack, as well as playing with big bands including Back to Basie, Ronnie Scott's Jazz Orchestra, and the BBC Big Band. Other artists Andy has performed with include Frankie Valli, Will Young, Leo Sayer, and Lisa Stansfield.
Apart from playing with The Syd Lawrence Orchestra Andy is currently lead trombone with The Rat Pack Live From Las Vegas and touring with Andy Abrahams.
